Founded in 1902, Real Madrid has never been relegated from La Liga, the top league of Spanish football. The club established itself as a major force in both Spanish and European football during the 1950s. In the 1980s, the club had one of the best teams (known as La Quinta del Buitre) in Spain and Europe, winning two UEFA Cups, five consecutive Spanish championships, one Spanish Cup and three Spanish Super Cups.

The team’s traditional home kit colour is white, although it originally adopted a blue oblique stripe on the shirt. Its crest has been changed several times in attempts to modernise or re-brand it. The current crest is a modified version of the one first adopted in the 1920s. Real Madrid’s home ground is the 80,354-seater Santiago Bernabéu football stadium in downtown Madrid, where it has played since 1947. The Bernabéu was the venue for the European cup (or UEFA Champions League) finals of 1957, 1969, 1980 and 2010.

Real Madrid holds long-standing rivalries with other football clubs, most notably FC Barcelona, with matches between the two teams referred to as “el Clásico”. Unlike most European football clubs, Real Madrid’s members (socios) have owned and operated the club since its inception. The club is the world’s richest football club (€401m) in terms of revenue and the second most valuable worth over €950m in 2008.

Founded as Foot-Ball Club Barcelona in 1899 by a group of Swiss, English, and Spanish footballers led by Joan Gamper, the club has become a symbol of Catalan culture and Catalanism, hence the motto “Més que un club” (English: More than a club). The official Barça anthem is the “Cant del Barça” written by Jaume Picas and Josep Maria Espinàs. Unlike many other football clubs, the supporters own and operate Barcelona. It is the world’s second richest football club in terms of revenue, with an annual turn-over of €398 million. The club holds a long-standing rivalry with Real Madrid, and matches between the two teams are referred to as “El Clásico”.

FC Barcelona is the second most successful club in Spanish football in terms of overall trophies, having won twenty La Liga titles, a record twenty-five Spanish Cups, nine Spanish Super Cups, and two League Cups. It is also one of most successful clubs in European football, having won ten UEFA competitions.[2] It is the only European club to have played continental football every season since 1955. In 2009, Barcelona became the first club in Spain to win the treble consisting of La Liga, Copa del Rey, and the Champions League. That same year, it also became the first football club ever to win six out of six competitions in a single year, thus completing the sextuple, comprising the aforementioned treble and the Spanish Super Cup, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

It also oversees NASCAR Local Racing, the Whelen Modified Tour, the Whelen All-American Series, and the NASCAR iRacing.com Series. NASCAR sanctions over 1500 races at over 100 tracks in 39 states, and Canada. NASCAR has presented exhibition races at the Suzuka and Motegi circuits in Japan, Mexico, and Calder Park Raceway in Australia.

NASCAR’s headquarters are located in Daytona Beach, Florida, although it also maintains offices in four North Carolina cities: Charlotte, Mooresville, Concord, and Conover. Regional offices are also located in New York City, Los Angeles, Bentonville, Arkansas, and international offices in Mexico City and Toronto. Additionally, owing to its southern roots, all but a handful of NASCAR teams are still based in North Carolina, especially near Charlotte.

NASCAR is one of the most viewed professional sports in terms of television ratings in the United States. In fact, professional football is the only sport in the United States to hold more viewers than NASCAR. Internationally, NASCAR races are broadcast in over 150 countries. NASCAR holds 17 of the top 20 attended single-day sporting events in the world, and claims 75 million fans who purchase over $3 billion in annual licensed product sales. Fortune 500 companies sponsor NASCAR more than any other motor sport, although this has been in decline since the early 2000s.

A smartphone is a mobile phone that offers more advanced computing ability and connectivity than a contemporary feature phone. Smartphones and feature phones may be thought of as handheld computers integrated with a mobile telephone, but while most feature phones are able to run applications based on platforms such as Java ME, a smartphone usually allows the user to install and run more advanced applications. Smartphones run complete operating system software providing a platform for application developers. Thus, they combine the functions of a camera phone and a personal digital assistant (PDA).

Some smartphones, sometimes called NirvanaPhones, have a docking station with an external display and keyboard to create a desktop or laptop environment.

Growth in demand for advanced mobile devices boasting powerful processors, abundant memory, larger screens, and open operating systems has outpaced the rest of the mobile phone market for several years. According to a study by ComScore, over 45.5 million people in the United States owned smartphones in 2010 out of 234 million total subscribers. Despite the large increase in smartphone sales in the last few years, smartphone shipments only make up 20% of total handset shipments, as of the first half of 2010. In March 2011 Berg Insight reported data that showed global smartphone shipments increased 74% from 2009 to 2010.

The New York Rangers were one of four NHL teams to open their 2008–09 season in Europe, being featured in the Victoria Cup final, defeating the European Champions Cup winner Metallurg Magnitogorsk, in Bern, Switzerland. The Rangers followed by playing two NHL regular-season games against the Tampa Bay Lightning team in Prague on October 4 and October 5, winning both games 2-1. A successful early start was tempered with the news of the death of 2007 first round draft choice Alexei Cherepanov on October 13, 2008. After a disappointing 2nd half of the season, coach Tom Renney was fired and John Tortorella named as his replacement. The Rangers made the playoffs, but lost their opening round series to the Washington Capitals four games to three after having a 3-1 lead and a chance to close the series.

In the 2009-2010 season, the Rangers failed to make the playoffs for the first time in 5 years. There was some criticism that the off-season acquisition of superstar Marian Gaborik amongst other top tier players had not paid off. Gaborik, however, scored 42 goals in the season. In spite of an impressive start (8-2), the Rangers appeared to play inconsistently with numerous losing streaks. By March 2010, the Rangers were in danger of falling out of the playoff race entirely, but they registered a respectable 7-1-2 record to finish the season. The final 2 games of the season were a home and home versus the Philadelphia Flyers. The first was April 9, 2010 in New York. The Rangers skated away with the victory keeping their hopes alive. The final game of the season would become the deciding game to see who would make the playoffs. The Flyers peppered the Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist with 47 shots, but only scored once. The game would then go into a shootout seeing the Flyers prevail to move on to the post season, despite a strong finish to the season.

For the 2010-2011 season, the Rangers waived Wade Redden and brought in several players to get more balanced scoring. They will also wear a third jersey for the first time in several years. On Friday, November 12 the Rangers unveiled the new Heritage Jersey for the first time at the rink at Rockefeller Center in a special ceremony. The event featured Rangers alumni and current players discussing the history of the storied franchise. The club wore the jersey for the first time on Wednesday, November 17 when they played the Boston Bruins at Madison Square Garden. The jersey will be worn every time the Rangers play an Original Six team or on a Sunday afternoon game at home.

Later in 2007, Apple Inc. introduced its first iPhone. It was initially costly, priced at $500 for the cheaper of two models on top of a two year contract. It was one of the first smartphones to be mainly controlled through its touchscreen, the others being the LG Prada and the HTC Touch (also released in 2007). It was the first mobile phone to use a multi-touch interface, and it featured a web browser that Ars Technica then described as “far superior” to anything offered by that of its competitors. At the time of the launch of the iPhone it was arguable whether it was actually a smartphone as the first generation lacked the ability to officially use third-party applications. A process called jailbreaking emerged quickly to provide unofficial third-party applications. Steve Jobs publicly stated that the iPhone lacked 3G support due to the immaturity, power use, and physical size requirements of 3G chipsets at the time. However, it has been rumored that the CDMA2000 Network Providers (Verizon, Sprint) refused to allow the iPhone on their network because Jobs wanted total control of the application store associated with the iPhone.

The Android operating system for smartphones was released in 2008. Android is an open source platform backed by Google, along with major hardware and software developers (such as Intel, HTC, ARM, Motorola and Samsung, to name a few), that form the Open Handset Alliance. The first phone to use the Android OS was the HTC Dream, branded for distribution by T-Mobile as the G1. The software suite included on the phone consists of integration with Google’s proprietary applications, such as Maps, Calendar, and Gmail, and a full HTML web browser. Third-party apps are available via the Android Market (released October 2008), including both free and paid apps.

In July 2008, Apple introduced its second generation iPhone which had a lower list price and 3G support. Released with it, Apple also created the App Store with both free and paid applications. The App Store can deliver smartphone applications developed by third parties directly to the iPhone or iPod Touch over wifi or cellular network without using a PC to download. The App Store has been a huge success for Apple and by April 2010 hosted more than 185,000 applications. The App Store hit three billion application downloads in early January 2010, and 10 billion by January 2011.

In January 2010, Google launched the Nexus One smartphone using its Android OS. Although Android has multi-touch capabilities, Google initially removed that feature from the Nexus One, but it was added through a firmware update on February 2, 2010.

According to Gartner in their report dated November 2010, total smartphone sales doubled in one year and now smartphones represent 19.3 percent of total mobile phone sales. Over late 2009 and 2010 Android’s smartphone market share has increased very rapidly.

At Q4 2010, Android surpass Symbian sold by 32.9 and 31.0 million respectively. Android-equipped phones sold seven times more than a year ago due to customers like open-source operating system that surpass computers for accessing websites.

In 2010 smartphone sales increase by 72.1 percent compares to 2009, whereas all mobile phone only increase 31.8 percent. Portion sale of smartphone is 19 percent of mobile phone.

Fox NFL Sunday is the pregame show for the TV show NFL on Fox. The program is broadcast on Fox television affiliates nationwide. The audio portion of the show is broadcast over the Fox Sports Radio network, distributed by Premiere Radio Networks. The show has won four Emmy Awards.

Super Bowl XLV will be the 45th annual edition of the Super Bowl in American football, and the 41st annual championship game of the modern-era National Football League (NFL). The game, to be played on February 6, 2011, will pit the AFC champion Pittsburgh Steelers against the NFC champion Green Bay Packers to decide the NFL champion for the 2010 season.

The game will be held at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the first time that the Super Bowl will be held in the Dallas–Fort Worth area; and the third time it will be held in Texas (Houston was the host city to VIII and XXXVIII). Kickoff time is approximately 5:25pm CST (UTC-06). This will be the eighth appearance in the Super Bowl for the Steelers (who hold the record with six Super Bowl wins) and the fifth for the Packers (who hold the record with 12 overall NFL titles, including three Super Bowl wins and nine league titles prior to the Super Bowl-era). This will be the fourth time that two pre-expansion era (pre 1960) teams meet in the Super Bowl (XIV, XLI, and XLIII).

As of February 2, the Packers are two to three point favorites, making this the first Super Bowl in which the Steelers were underdogs since Super Bowl XXX. In all four previous Super Bowls that Green Bay played in, they were favored to win.

Fox NFL Sunday debuted in 1994 with hosts James Brown, Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, and Jimmy Johnson. The program was notable in being the first hour-long NFL pregame show on a broadcast network; previous network pregames such as CBS’ The NFL Today had always been 30 minutes in length. Fox’s show also adopted a looser, more irreverent approach than its predecessors.

Throughout Johnson’s time on the show, many times he would host the show from his home in Florida. There was much speculation that Jimmy Johnson would return to coaching during the first year of the show. Prior to the end of the year, Johnson made an ‘announcement’ saying he was happy with his new career in broadcasting. In 1996, he left to coach the Miami Dolphins, with Ronnie Lott brought in to succeed him for two seasons.

During the time with Jimmy Johnson, the opening to the show would feature a comedic skit involving several or all of the hosts.

Fox Sports is scheduled to televise the game in the United States, with Joe Buck as the play-by-play announcer and Troy Aikman, himself a three-time Super Bowl winner as a Dallas Cowboys quarterback, as the color analyst. Mike Pereira will join Buck and Aikman in the broadcast booth to comment on instant replay reviews, while Pam Oliver and Chris Myers will serve as sideline reporters. The pre-game show will feature the Fox NFL Sunday crew of host Curt Menefee and a group of analysts with extensive Super Bowl experiences of their own: Terry Bradshaw (4 time Super Bowl winning QB with the Pittsburgh Steelers), Howie Long (one-time Super Bowl winning linebacker with the then-Los Angeles Raiders), Michael Strahan (one-time Super Bowl winning defensive end with the NY Giants) and Jimmy Johnson (two-time Super Bowl winning head coach with the Cowboys). They will be joined by a variety of other commentators.

The Steelers are the second team to play in Super Bowls televised on all four major broadcast networks in the United States (NBC-IX, XIV and XLIII, CBS-X and XIV, ABC-XL, and Fox-XLV), joining the Denver Broncos. Should the Steelers win, they will become the first team to win a Super Bowl televised on each of the four networks.

Five days prior to the game, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, along with the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, seized and shut down several Web sites that have provided access to pirated Internet television feeds of NFL games.

Windows Phone 7 is a mobile operating system developed by Microsoft, and is the successor to its Windows Mobile platform. Mobile Phone TV: Watch Live NHL Games on Windows Mobile Phone: Boston Bruins vs Buffalo Sabres

The Boston Bruins are a professional ice hockey team based in Boston, Massachusetts. They are members of the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). The team has been in existence since 1924, entering the league as the first United States-based expansion franchise. They are also an Original Six team, along with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings, New York Rangers, Montreal Canadiens, and Chicago Blackhawks. Boston currently has the second highest total of Stanley Cup championships won by an American team at five, with the Detroit Red Wings winning 11. Their home arena is the TD Garden, where they have played since 1995 after leaving the Boston Garden (which had been their home since 1928).

The 2004–05 NHL season was wiped out by a lockout, and the Bruins had a lot of space within the new salary cap implemented for 2005–06. Bruins management eschewed younger free agents in favor of older veterans such as Alexei Zhamnov and Brian Leetch. The newcomers were oft-injured, and by the end of November, the Bruins team traded their captain and franchise player, Joe Thornton (who went on to win the Art Ross and Hart Trophies). In exchange, the Bruins received Marco Sturm, Brad Stuart and Wayne Primeau from the San Jose Sharks. After losing ten of eleven games before the trade, the Bruins came back with a 3–0 victory over the league-leading Ottawa Senators, as rookie goaltender Hannu Toivonen earned his first career NHL shutout. When Toivonen went down with an injury in January, journeyman goalie Tim Thomas started sixteen straight games and brought the Bruins back into the playoff run. Two points out of eighth place at the Winter Olympic break, the Bruins fired general manager Mike O’Connell in March and the Bruins missed the playoffs for the first time in five years.

Peter Chiarelli was hired as the new GM of the team. Head coach Mike Sullivan was fired and Dave Lewis, former coach of the Detroit Red Wings, was hired to replace him. The Bruins signed Zdeno Chara, one of the most coveted defensemen in the NHL and a former NHL All-Star, from the Senators, and Marc Savard, who finished just three points short of a 100–point season in 2005–06 with the Atlanta Thrashers, to long-term deals.

The 2006–07 season ended in the team finishing in last place in the division. The Bruins traded Brad Stuart and Wayne Primeau to the Calgary Flames for Andrew Ference and forward Chuck Kobasew.

The 2007–08 season ended on a bright note for the Bruins when they forced the Canadiens to play a seven-game playoff series, including a memorable Game 6 in which Boston came back to win 5–4. Although Bruins center Patrice Bergeron was injured with a concussion most of the season, youngsters Milan Lucic, David Krejci, Vladimir Sobotka and Petteri Nokelainen showed promise in the playoffs.

The Buffalo Sabres are a professional ice hockey team based in Buffalo, New York. They are members of the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL).

The Sabres unveiled new jerseys on September 18 that establish the current third “retro” jersey as the official home jersey and adopt a white version of said jersey as the away, with a third jersey having an alternate throwback arrangement that pays homage to the American Hockey League’s Buffalo Bisons, complete with the team’s 40th Anniversary insignia (basically the original royal blue version of the current logo with the year “1970″ inside).[13][14] The roster will not have many significant changes; one of the most notable was the team’s decision to waive center Tim Kennedy, a Buffalo native, to avoid paying the award he won in arbitration. Kennedy signed with the New York Rangers, but was waived prior to the regular season. Defensemen Henrik Tallinder and Toni Lydman were both allowed to leave as free agents, while the team signed veterans Jordan Leopold and Shaone Morrisonn to replace them. Additionally, center Rob Niedermayer was added as a Cup-winning, veteran presence.

On November 30, 2010, Ken Campbell of The Hockey News reported that billionaire Terrence Pegula has signed a letter of intent to purchase the Sabres from Golisano for US$150 million. Pegula is the founder, President and CEO of East Resources, one of the largest privately held companies in the United States. Quinn claims the report is “untrue” but has refused further comment. Golisano reportedly issued a counteroffer with an asking price of US$175 million.

Windows Mobile 6.5 was never part of Microsoft’s mobile phone roadmap, and has been described by its chief executive, Steve Ballmer, as “not the full release [Microsoft] wanted” until the multi-touch enabled Windows Mobile 7 (now replaced by Windows Phone 7) arrived in 2010. Version 6.5 is an upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.1 that was released to manufacturers on May 11, 2009, and the first devices running the operating system debuted in late October ’09. This incremental update includes some significant new added features, such as a revamped GUI, new today screen with vertically scrollable labels (called ‘Titanium’); though is generally regarded as a minor upgrade. It also includes the new Internet Explorer Mobile 6 browser, which has an improved interface over previous versions.

Microsoft unveiled this version at the 2009 Mobile World Congress in February, and several devices now run this Windows Mobile version, those devices running Windows Mobile 6.5 onwards are marketed as “Windows phones”. Along with Windows Mobile 6.5, Microsoft announced several Cloud computing services codenamed “SkyBox”,”SkyLine”,”SkyMarket”. “SkyBox” has been confirmed as My Phone, while “SkyMarket” has been confirmed as Windows Marketplace for Mobile. Some aspects of the user interface have been redesigned with the home screen resembling that of Microsoft’s Zune player and the sliding panel interface of Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard. This version was designed mainly for easier finger usage. Whilst this version of Windows Mobile does not natively support capacitive screens, mobile manufacturers have been able to successfully implement it on their devices

Several phones currently running Windows Mobile 6.1 are updatable to Windows Mobile 6.5.

In February 2010, a Microsoft press release listed the companies that would help make and operate Windows Phone 7. Hardware (OEM) makers were listed as Dell, Garmin-Asus, HTC, HP , LG, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Toshiba and Qualcomm; mobile network operators included AT&T, Deutsche Telekom, Orange, SFR, Sprint, Telecom Italia, Telefónica, Telstra, T-Mobile USA, Verizon Wireless, Vodafone, Telus, Bell Canada and SingTel.

HP later decided not to build devices for Windows Phone 7, citing that it wanted to focus on devices for its newly purchased WebOS.

Windows Phone 7 supports five languages: English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. Windows Phone Marketplace allows buying and selling applications in 17 countries and regions: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland,Puerto Rico, United Kingdom, and United States.

Windows Phone 7 was released in Europe on October 21, in North America on November 8, and in Mexico on November 24, 2010. A release in Asian countries will follow in 2011.

On October 11, 2010, Microsoft’s CEO Steve Ballmer announced 10 devices operating Windows Phone 7, made by HTC, Dell, Samsung, and LG, with sales beginning on October 21, 2010 in Europe and Australia and November 8, 2010 in the United States. The devices were available on 60 carriers in 30 countries, with additional devices to be launched in 2011.

Microsoft reported on December 21, 2010 that in the first 6 weeks phone manufacturers sold 1.5 million Windows Phone 7 devices to mobile operators and retailers. In January 2011, LG reported about its own handsets: “From an industry perspective we had a high expectation, but from a consumer point of view the visibility is less than we expected”.

The Sabres lost both of their co-captains, Danny Briere (who went to the Philadelphia Flyers) and Chris Drury (who went to the New York Rangers) during the free agency period. The Sabres nearly lost Thomas Vanek to the Edmonton Oilers who offered him a seven-year, $50 million offer sheet, but the Sabres matched the offer on July 6. After these events, the team changed its policy of not negotiating contracts during the regular season. On October 16, 2007, they signed Jochen Hecht to a 4 year $14.1 million dollar contract.

Long-time Sabres broadcast color commentator Jim Lorentz announced his retirement during the 07–08 preseason. Hockey Night in Canada’s Harry Neale took over the position in October 2007.

The Sabres’ January 1 home game against the Pittsburgh Penguins was played outdoors at Ralph Wilson Stadium, home of the National Football League’s Buffalo Bills. Officially, the game was called the AMP Energy NHL Winter Classic, but in Buffalo and the surrounding areas it was referred to as the “Ice Bowl”. The Sabres lost 2–1 in a shootout.

The Sabres, like all of the NHL teams updated their jerseys as part of the league-wide switchover to Rbk Edge jerseys. The team did not make radical changes to the jersey design, adding an NHL crest below the neck opening. There will be no ‘third jersey’ this season, although the team wore the 1970s design for the January 1 outdoor game.

With a 3-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on April 3, 2008 that eliminated the Sabres out of playoff contention, they became only the third team in NHL history to go from finishing first overall in the regular season standings to finishing out of the playoffs the following year. Both of the previous two teams to do so ended up winning the Stanley Cup the following year.

On January 1, 2010, the Bruins won the 2010 NHL Winter Classic over the Philadelphia Flyers in a 2-1 overtime decision at Fenway Park, thus becoming the first home team to win an outdoor classic game. However, following the New Year’s Day game, the Bruins, hobbled by injuries, would go through a five-week long period of lackluster play, with only two wins and compiling ten regulation losses earning them only eight points in the Eastern Conference standings in that 15-game long period, before breaking the losing streak in an away game against the Canadiens on February 7, with Tuukka Rask shutting out the Habs 3-0. The win over the Canadiens was the first of four successive victories leading into the break in play for the NHL’s participation in the 2010 Winter Olympics, and established Tuukka Rask as the number one goaltender for the Bruins, as Tim Thomas would only start eight of the 22 games remaining in the post-Olympic period of the season, with Rask winning eight of his post-Olympic starts, including two shutouts. Thomas was on the silver-medal winning US team, with Patrice Bergeron on the gold-medal-winning Canadian team.

The importance of former Sabre forward Daniel Paille’s acquisition by the Bruins, and his emergence as a penalty killing forward, was emphasized on April 10, 2010, as Paille, Steve Begin, and Blake Wheeler combined for the first-ever known trio of short handed goals within one penalty kill, in only 1:04 of game time, in a home game against the Carolina Hurricanes, helping the Bruins to sixth place in the NHL Eastern Conference, and a 2010 NHL playoff opening round appearance against the Buffalo Sabres, which they won 4 games to 2 games. Boston became only the third team in NHL history to lose a playoff series after leading 3-0 when they lost in Game 7 to the Philadelphia Flyers after losing a 3-0 lead in the second round on May 14, 2010, also losing the services of playmaking center David Krejci to injury in the pivotal fourth game of the series.

On April 13, 2010 the Boston Bruins received the second overall draft pick for the 2010 draft that was held in Los Angeles, CA at the Staples Center, selecting Tyler Seguin in the first round on June 25, 2010, with Greg Campbell and Nathan Horton joining the team, with Vladimir Sobotka and Dennis Wideman leaving the Bruins in the 2010 summer off-season. After the season ended, Cam Neely was named on June 16, 2010 as the new team president of the Bruins.

The Chicago Bulls are an American professional basketball team based in Chicago, Illinois, playing in the Central Division of the Eastern Conference in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The team was founded in 1966. They play their home games at the United Center. The team is well known for having one of the greatest dynasties in NBA and sports history during the 1990s, winning six championships in 8 years with two three-peats. All six of those championship teams were led by Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and coach Phil Jackson. The first three championship teams included the likes of Bill Cartwright, Horace Grant, John Paxson and B.J. Armstrong, while the latter three championship teams had Luc Longley, Steve Kerr, Ron Harper, Toni Kuko? and Dennis Rodman on the roster. The Bulls won an NBA record 72 games during the 1995–96 NBA season and are the only team in NBA history to win at least 70 games in a single season. During the 1990s, the Bulls helped spread the popularity of the NBA around the world. The 1998 NBA Finals, the Bulls’ most recent championship appearance, was the most watched championship series in NBA history.

The Charlotte Bobcats are a professional basketball team based in Charlotte, North Carolina. They play in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association. The Bobcats were established in 2004 as an expansion team, two seasons after Charlotte’s previous NBA team, the Charlotte Hornets, relocated to New Orleans and became the New Orleans Hornets. The Bobcats play their home games at Time Warner Cable Arena in uptown Charlotte. Charlotte’s NBA Development League team is the Maine Red Claws. The Bobcats were also the brother team of the Charlotte Sting of the WNBA before the Sting folded on January 3, 2007. The Bobcats began the 2010–11 season with high hopes following their successful previous season. On November 20, in victory over the Phoenix Suns, Stephen Jackson recorded the first triple-double in franchise history, when he finished with 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. However, on December 22, 2010, following a 9–19 start to the season, Michael Jordan announced that Larry Brown had stepped down as the Bobcats Head Coach. That same day, the Bobcats hired former Cavaliers head coach Paul Silas as their new head coach.

On April 29, 2008 the Bobcats reached an agreement to hire Larry Brown as the third head coach in franchise history. Brown, a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame, had over twenty years of experience coaching teams in college basketball, the American Basketball Association, and in the NBA.

The 2008 NBA Draft saw the Bobcats select D. J. Augustin from Texas with the ninth selection in the first round. During the offseason an agreement with the team’s first ever draft pick, Emeka Okafor, was reached on a six-year $72 million dollar contract extension. On December 10, 2008, the team traded Jason Richardson to the Phoenix Suns along with Jared Dudley and a 2010 second-round draft pick for Boris Diaw, Raja Bell and Sean Singletary. Adam Morrison, who had struggled in Charlotte and fallen out of favor with Brown, was involved in a trade to the Los Angeles Lakers for forward Vladimir Radmanovi? on February 7, 2009. The Bobcats came very close to reaching the franchise’s first playoff berth during the 2008–09 season, but finished just four games out of eighth place with a team record 35 wins, 47 losses. Members of the team voiced their frustration at management for hosting the Charlotte Jumper Classic, a horse event, at the end of the season. The scheduling conflict forced the Bobcats to play their final four games on the road, virtually ending any playoff hopes.

Gerald Henderson from Duke was chosen with the 12th pick by the Bobcats in the 2009 NBA Draft. Xavier’s Derrick Brown was also selected. On July 28, 2009, the Bobcats traded Emeka Okafor for New Orleans Hornets center Tyson Chandler, and on November 16, 2009, the Bobcats traded Raja Bell and Vladimir Radmanovic to the Golden State Warriors for Stephen Jackson and Acie Law.

In June 2009, Johnson announced he was putting the team up for sale. Michael Jordan and former Houston Rockets president George Postolos emerged as the leading contenders. On February 27, 2010 it was announced that Johnson had decided to sell the team to Jordan, though terms were not immediately disclosed. Jordan had been a minority owner and had also served as head of basketball operations for the Bobcats before buying the team.

The Charlotte Bobcats finished the 2009-10 season with an overall record of 44-38. On April 7, 2010, in part due to a crucial 3-pointer by D.J. Augustin, the Bobcats claimed a 104-103 win against the New Orleans Hornets and clinched their first ever playoff berth. On April 18, 2010, the Bobcats made their playoff debut, facing the Orlando Magic. The Bobcats ultimately lost their first playoff game, with a score of 98-89, and on April 26, 2010, the Bobcats were eliminated from the playoffs after losing to the Magic in four straight games.

The Chicago Bulls are a National Basketball Association (NBA) team based in Chicago, Illinois. Dick Klein founded the Bulls in 1966 after six other professional basketball teams in Chicago had failed. In their 43 seasons, the Bulls have achieved a winning record 20 times, and have appeared in the NBA playoffs 28 times. They received international recognition in the 1990s when All-Star shooting guard Michael Jordan led them to their six league championships. The only NBA franchises that have won more championships than the Bulls are the Boston Celtics (17 championships) and Los Angeles Lakers (16).

The Bulls initially competed in the NBA’s Western Division. The Western Division was renamed the Western Conference in 1970, and was split into the Midwest and Pacific Divisions. The Bulls played in the Midwest Division until 1980, when they moved to the Central Division of the Eastern Conference.

The Bulls’ luck turned for the better after selecting Michael Jordan with the third overall pick in the 1984 NBA Draft. Now considered one of the greatest basketball players of all time, Jordan averaged 28.2 points per game during his first season and received the 1985 NBA Rookie of the Year. From 1985 onwards, the Bulls reached the playoffs every season he was on the team’s roster. However, Jordan could not lead the Bulls past the first round of the playoffs by himself, so in 1987, general manager Jerry Krause acquired Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant at that summer’s draft. These two young forwards could complement Jordan with their scoring, defense, and rebounding. In 1989, the Bulls played in their first conference finals series since 1975, losing to the Detroit Pistons. Coach Phil Jackson joined the Bulls after that season, and in 1991, the team won their first of three consecutive NBA championships by defeating Magic Johnson and the Lakers.

Michael Jordan suddenly retired from basketball in October 1993 and embarked upon a career in minor league baseball. Although the Bulls signed European standout Toni Kuko? to help alleviate the loss, they could not extend their championship streak, falling to the New York Knicks in the 1994 Eastern Conference Semifinals. The Bulls then lost Horace Grant, who signed with the Orlando Magic as a free agent during the summer of 1994. However, Jordan returned to the Bulls in March 1995, and with the added help of rebounding specialist Dennis Rodman, the team won three more championships from 1996 to 1998. The 1995–96 Bulls won a record 72 regular season games (out of 82 and are widely regarded as one of the greatest teams in NBA history.

Each team in the NHL plays 82 regular season games, 41 games at home and 41 on the road. In all, 1230 games are played in one regular season.

In the 2008–09 season, the NHL regular season reverted to the format used before the 2004–05 Lockout, where each team plays six games (three at home, three away) against the other teams in its division (a total of 24 games). Teams play all other non-divisional teams in their own conference four times (twice at home, twice away, 40 total games). The remaining 18 games of the season are inter-conference play, allowing every team in the league to play every other team at least once. Each team plays 12 teams from the other conference once and play the other three non-conference teams both home and away. If a non-conference team is played only once, next year’s schedule will include at least one game between the same two teams at the opposite venue. The schedule is structured so that every NHL team plays in every arena at least once every two years.

The season is typically divided approximately in half by the NHL All-Star Game and its accompanying festivities, during which no regular season games take place.

Two points are awarded for a win (including in overtime or shootout), one point for a loss in overtime or shootout, and no points for a loss in regulation time.

At the end of the regular season, 16 teams, eight from each conference, qualify for the Stanley Cup playoffs. The teams are seeded one through eight in each conference. The teams that finish with the most points in each division are crowned the division champions, and are seeded one through three based on their point records. The next five teams with the best records in the conference are seeded four through eight. In the event of a tie in points in the standings, ties are broken using the following tiebreaking procedures: The higher ranked team is the one with:

1. The fewer number of games played. (Only used during the season, as all teams will have played 82 games once the season is over.)
2. The greater number of games won. Starting in the 2010-11 NHL season, shootout wins are not included in the tie-breaking procedure.
3. The greater number of points earned in games between the tied clubs.
4. The greater differential between goals for and against for the entire regular season.

A smartphone is a mobile phone that offers more advanced computing ability and connectivity than a contemporary basic feature phone. Smartphones and feature phones may be thought of as handheld computers integrated within a mobile telephone, but while most feature phones are able to run applications based on platforms such as Java ME, a smartphone usually allows the user to install and run more advanced applications. Smartphones run complete operating system software providing a platform for application developers. Like feature phones, a smartphone can be considered as a Personal Pocket Computer with mobile phone functions, because these devices are mainly computers, although much smaller than a desktop computer.

The App Store hit three billion application downloads in early January 2010.

The NHL Entry Draft is an annual meeting in which every franchise of the National Hockey League (NHL) systematically select the rights to available amateur ice hockey players who meet draft eligibility requirements (North American players 18–20 years old and Europeans of all ages entering league for the 1st time, all others enter league as unrestricted free agents). The NHL Entry Draft is held once every year, generally within two to three months after the conclusion of the previous season. During the draft, teams take turns selecting amateur players from junior, collegiate, or European leagues.

The first draft was held in 1963, and has been held every year since. The NHL Entry Draft was known as the “NHL Amateur Draft” up until 1979. The entry draft has only been a public event since 1980, and a televised event since 1984. The first pick of the draft goes to the team that wins the NHL Draft Lottery, held prior to the event. The draft lottery also places the order for picks two through fourteen. The remaining draft picks are ordered at the conclusion of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

The Boston Celtics are National Basketball Association (NBA) team based in Boston, Massachusetts. They play in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. Founded in 1946, the team is currently owned by Boston Basketball Partners LLC. The Celtics play their home games at the TD Garden, which they share with the Boston Blazers (NLL), and the Boston Bruins of the NHL. The Celtics’ 17 NBA Championships are the most for any NBA franchise[1],with the Los Angeles Lakers following closely behind with 16. From 1957 to 1969, the Celtics dominated the league winning 11 championships in 13 years, and eight in a row (1959–1966), the longest consecutive championship streak of any North American pro sports team.

The Celtics have dominated the league during the late 50’s and through the mid 80’s, with the help of many Hall of Famers which include Bill Russell, Bob Cousy, John Havlicek, Larry Bird and legendary Celtics coach Red Auerbach, combined for a 795–397 record that helped the Celtics win 16 Championships. During that span the Celtics met the Lakers 12 times in the Finals during the mid 1950′s and 80′s with the Celtics winning nine and Lakers winning three. Before the retirement of the “Big 3” (Larry Bird, Robert Parish and Kevin McHale), and thanks to some creative maneuvering by Auerbach, the Celtics had drafted second overall pick Len Bias but the team fell into decline as the college star died the day after he was drafted. Later, the team suffered another tragedy when their star player Reggie Lewis died of a heart attack in his prime. The franchise returned to prominence during the 2007–2008 season when Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen joined Paul Pierce and the new “Big Three” led the team to its 17th championship. Four Celtics (Bob Cousy, Bill Russell, Dave Cowens and Larry Bird) have won the NBA Most Valuable Player Award for an NBA record total of 10 MVP awards.

Windows Phone 7 is a mobile operating system developed by Microsoft, and is the successor to its Windows Mobile platform. It is aimed at the consumer market instead of the enterprise market like its predecessor. It launched in Europe, Singapore and Australia on October 21, 2010, and in the US and Canada on November 8, 2010, Mexico on November 24, 2010, with Asia to follow in 2011. With Windows Phone 7, Microsoft offers a new user interface with its design language named Metro, integrates the operating system with 3rd party and other Microsoft services, and plans to strictly control which hardware it runs on. Microsoft unveiled Windows Phone 7 on February 15, 2010, at Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona[5] and revealed additional details at MIX 2010 on March 15, 2010. The final SDK was made available on September 16, 2010.

The devices were to be available on 60 carriers in 30 countries, with additional devices to be launched in 2011.

When the Charlotte Hornets relocated to New Orleans for the 2002–03 season, the NBA promised Charlotte leaders that the city would be granted an NBA expansion team for the 2004–05 season. Several ownership groups, including one led by former Boston Celtics star Larry Bird, made bids for the team. On December 18, 2002, a group led by Black Entertainment Television founder Robert Johnson was awarded the franchise, becoming one of the first prominent African American owners in U.S. professional sports. Another notable co-owner is the rapper Nelly.

In June 2003, the new team was named the Bobcats. Bobcats, along with Charlotte Flight and Charlotte Dragons were the top three choices as voted by fans. The Charlotte Regional Sports Commission aided with the “Help Name The Team” effort that drew over 1,250 suggestions. The bobcat, an expert at survival according to the North Carolina Wildlife Commission, is athletic, fierce and an indigenous predator to the Carolinas. Charlotte, already being home to the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League, made the cat-related name a natural choice for the area’s new basketball team. There is also speculation as to whether or not the “Bob” in Bobcats is a further reference to Robert “Bob” Johnson, the original owner of the team.

The Celtics and the Lakers met for the 12th time in the NBA Finals. After taking a 3-2 lead heading into Los Angeles for Game 6, the Celtics appear poised to pack in their 18th title. But Kendrick Perkins, the team’s starting center, suffered a severe knee injury early in Game 6. With him went the Celtics’ chances as the Lakers won both Games 6 and 7 to win the championship, the latter representing the Celtics’ first Game 7 finals defeat. After speculation that coach Doc Rivers would resign to spend more time with his family, he affirmed on June 30, 2010 that he would return to the team for the 2010-2011 season.

With Perkins on the shelf till February 2011 at the very least, the Celtics signed two former All-Star centers, Shaquille O’Neal and Jermaine O’Neal, for insurance; they also signed Turkish center Semih Erden, their 2008 second round pick. The Celtics also welcomed back Delonte West to back up Rondo. The Celtics currently hold the best record in the Eastern Conference at 27-7 as of January 6, 2011, despite the extended absences of both O’Neals, Rondo and West and a recent injury to Kevin Garnett. Paul Pierce became the third Celtic to score 20,000 points, joining Larry Bird and John Havlicek. On January 7, 2011, Boston Celtics joined Los Angeles Lakers to be the only franchises to reach 3,000 wins. They won against Toronto Raptors, 122-102.

Despite failed attempts at the ballot box to fully fund a new uptown arena, city politicians decided to go ahead with plans and implemented a hotel and leisure tax in Charlotte to help pay for it. George Shinn, owner of the Hornets, also wanted the city to pay for a new arena, and subsequently left town for New Orleans when it failed to do so.
